Abstract
Steroid hormones and spermatozoa metabolism are reviewed. The main topics of discussion are: 1) content of sex steroids in the secretions o f the genital tract (in the male; in the female), 2) sex steroid binding by spermatozoa, 3) steroid transformation by spermatozoa, 4) modificatio n of spermatozoa metabolism by steroid hormones, 5) role of steroid hormones in sperm maturation in the male, and 6) effect of female secretions on spermatozoa metabolism.
