Effect of Feeding Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in its Various Forms on Growth Performance on Cross-Bred Calves

Fifty five cross bred (Jersey x Haryana) calves (5-8m;55kg) were randomly divided into 11 equal groups and were fed concentrate mixture alongwith either para hay ab lib or 50% or 100% of their replacement with water hyacinth in three forms (fresh, silage and wilted) for 180 d. It was observed that the animals performed bettter with the feeding of either rilage feedingg or 50% silage or fresh water hyaccinth along with 50% para hay without any adverse effect on baematologgical and urinary constitueents.
