Abstract
Studies on the effect of different modes of honeybee pollination on oil content in seeds of sunflower Helianthus annus L. indicated that oil content varied between 22.15 to 36.30 per cent. The oil content was higher in hand + insect pollination (36.30%) followed by open to all insect pollination (32.43%). The Apis mellifera pollinated seeds produced (30.96%) more oil as compared to Apis cerana indica (28.13%) over self pollinated (22.15%) and hand pollinated seeds (26.90%).
