Abstract
Discussed is a laboratory study that compared rutting resistance of hot mix asphalt (HMA) containing fine aggregates with different angularities. Permanent deformation was measured using the Asphalt Pavements Analyzer (APA). The HMA mixtures were designed following the Superpave specifications, to the extent possible, and prepared using the Superpave gyratory compactor. Six different mixtures were prepared using the same gradation. Crushed limestone was used as the coarse aggregate in all mixtures. The findings from the APA testing are provided.
