Abstract
Blood bicarbonate and urinary fractional bicarbonate excretion of thirty-three normal neonates were 16.5mEq/L and 0.3% respectively, which were significantly lower than those of adults. The mean (U-B) PCO2 in ten neonates was -13.3mmHg. After bringing urine pH up to 7.7 by bicarbonate load, the mean (U.B) PCO2 was 25.9mmHg.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
