Clinical analysis of 960 cases with acute bacillary dysentery.

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics and treatment strategies of the acute bacillary dysentery.Methods:960 cases with the acute bacillary dysentery were chosen to do retrospective analysis in this paper.Stool routine examination was done by ordinary glass microscope,routine blood was tested by laser combined with resistance method, and stool culture was done by the SS and MacConkey agar.The gender, age, the etiology, the course of disease, the time of disease, clinical manifestations, geographical distribution, secondary examination and treatment outcome were analyzed.Results:The acute bacillary dysentery was more likely to happen from July to September.There was no gender difference.The range of the ages mainly concentrated under 40 years old.Shigella was the main infectious bacteria.The chief manifestations were abdominal pain, diarrhea and fever.Conclusion:The acute bacillary dysentery is preventable.Patients should go to hospital on time and take drugs properly.
