Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif and rabi 2012 to study the effect of weed management integrated withtwo different sources of nitrogen on weed control and yield of transplanted rice-rice cropping system. Observations on total weed density and dry weight was recorded at 30, 60 DAT and at harvest. The results revealed that application of PE butachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE 0.4 kg/ha along with 75% inorganic nitrogen +25% organic nitrogen (K)/pretilachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE 0.4 kg/ha along with 100% inorganic nitrogen (R) (W3N2) recorded lower total weed density and dry weight with better weed control during both seasons. The yield attributes viz., no. of panicles/m2 and filled grains/panicle and yield were also significantly higher with the same treatment (W3N2) registered significantly higher panicles/m2 and yield.
