Abstract

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the loss characteristics of a cavitating flow in a venturi. A circular cavitating body was used to produce the cavitation. The results show that the wake cavitation losses seem to be a function of the cavitation number as well as Reynolds’ Number, but the cavitation number holds a better relationship with cavitational loss.
