This talk, under the chairmanship of Colonel C. E. Ponsonby, was delivered at short notice, after the Ethiopian Ambassador had, for the second time, to postpone his advertised address. Major Hastings is a former Secretary of the Society, and former member of the Leglislative Council in Southern Rhodesia, besides being a very well-known military commentator during the recent war.
