Public Health in India: Issues and Challenges

(India is booming in all of its development indicators and for Keeping pace in highly industrial and globalised world, India is now competing for enlisting it in the list of Developed countries. It is striving to achieve its highest level of socioeconomic dimensions. But the socio-economic dimensions of development of any country is so entwined that, it has to focus the health of its people. Without ensuring a healthier population India cannot compete with other developing nations to be developed one. Since time immemorial various efforts have been undertaken by Govt. as well as Private initiative for keeping its people healthy. It is a well accepted fact that, despite of a wide range of inputs the state of public health system in India is far away from as it is desired.
