Social implications of rural development in Kashmir

The main objective of rural development in Kashmir has been to bring improvement in the level of living, including employment, education, health, nutrition, housing, and a variety of social services; decrease inequality of rural incomes and rural-urban differences in income; and the capacity of the rural sector to sustain and accelerate the pace of improvement in rural areas. In this context, the present research study explores the social implications of rural development on family, economy, education, health, hygiene, gender, housing, dress pattern, land reforms and social conflict in Kashmir
