Compatibility of certain insecticides with tebuconazole against pod borer and die-back and fruit rot in chilli

Abstract

A comprehensive work was carried out to study the compatibility among selected entomopathogenic fungi, insecticides and fungicides in chilli from 2006–09 at Directorate of Oilseeds Research (DOR) and Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The effect of test insecticides viz., indoxacarb (110.3 ppm), spinosad (99.8 ppm), novaluron (383.3 ppm) and cartap hydrochloride (224.3 ppm) in combination with tebuconazole (11.9 ppm) on the mortality of Helilcoverpa arrnigera larvae at their respective LC50 values revealed that all the combinations showed slight synergistic effect. When indoxacarb 110.3 ppm (LC50). spinosad 99.8 ppm (LC50)’ novaluron 383.3 ppm (LC50) and cartap hydrochloride 224.3 ppm (LC50) combined with tebuconazole (750, 1000, 1250 and 1500 ppm) resulted into synergism against third instar larvae of R. armigera. Similarly, when tebuconazole 11.85 ppm (LC50) was combined with indoxacarb (75, 112.5, 150, 187.5 and 225 ppm), spinosad (90,135 and 180 ppm), novaluron (50, 75 and 100 ppm) and cartap hydrochloride (250,375,500, 625 and 750 ppm,) antagonism existed against Colletotrichum capsici spore germination.
