Abstract

The availability of fresh drinking water is quickly becoming an important issue. Climate change is expected to influence the amount of available drinking water and how we use water as a society. The objective of this research was to better manage a water supply system. The research developed, calibrated and validated a demand forecasting model as well as hydraulic and water quality models to describe flow conditions and water turbidity in the system. The models were applied to the South East Kelowna Irrigation District located in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The models were successfully verified when compared with the field data.
