Abstract

Efficacy of the recommended pesticides viz., fungicides, and botanicals on the growth and sporulation of Rhizoctonia bataticola cauing (charcoal rot), of soybean under in vitro condition was evaluated. Usingpoisoned food techinque, radial growth and visual observations were taken. Pyraclostrobin, Picoxystrobin, Azcoxystrobin are highly effective in reducing myecial growth and sclerotial formation of Rhizoctonia bataticola. Out of eight fungicides tested only (carboxin, copper oxychloride, mancozeb, thiram, carbendazim) were effective in reducing the formation of Rhizoctonia bataticola. Nilgiri, neem and ashoka were moderately effective in reducing the mycelial growth and sclerotial formation of Rhizoctonia bataticola.
