Abstract
With Taihu Basin as study area, based on the water footprint input-output tables of 2007,water use coefficient, net external water footprint and water footprint of three major industries were analyzed. The results showed that: In 2007,the biggest completely water use coefficient is primary industry and the water use is mainly focused on direct water use; The water use of secondary and tertiary industries are mainly concentrated in indirect water use; In 2007,Taihu Basin water footprint is 45. 330 billion m3. The net external water footprint is 6. 398 billion m3and account for 14% of whole basin water footprint.
