Abstract

A two-year field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 1995–96 to evaluate fenoxaprop alone and in combination with metribuzin for the control of Phalaris minor in wheat. All the herbicides applied alone as well as in mixture significantly reduced the dry weight of Phalaris during both the years. Fenoxaprop 140 g/ha provided effective control of Phalaris and it was at par with weed free check in respect of yield and yield attributes. Tank mixture of isoproturon+tralkoxydim 375+250 g/ha provided similar results to fenoxaprop 140 g/ha. Application of fenoxaprop+metribuzin proved poorer, while metribuzin 300 g/ha was effective against Phalaris but toxic to crop.
