Investigation on Species and Application of Fall-color Trees in Kunming City

Phenological change of species,distribution and leaf colour of fall-color plants in the arterial roads,parks,public green spaces,residential districts and schools in municipal districts of Kunming were analyzed.The result showed that there were about 31 kinds of common fall-color plants and the majority of them were trees and shrubs and the most common plants were Ginkgo biloba,Celtis tetrandra and Koelreuteria bipinnata;based on the phenological observation of 11 kinds of fall-color plants,it indicated that the discoloration time of Sapindus delavayi was the earliest and the observation time of fall-color was the longest.In the application of fall-color plants,the configuration form of fall-color plants in every garden landscape in Kunming was relatively monotonous and mainly in isolated planting and stroll planting.On the basis of investigation and analysis,the suggestions for improving the application of fall-color plants in Kunming were put forward.
