Abstract
It was found that more bed width increased the vine length, however it remained unaffected by the change in plant spacing. The number of shoots and fruits per vine were not influenced by different bed and plant spacings. Leaf area index increased at the closer spacings. The average fruit weight also increased significantly with increased bed and plant spacings. Wider spacings produced lesser total and marketable yields and vice versa. The highest total and marketable yield was recorded at 2m bed and 30 cm & 45cm plant spacings. Hence a bed size of 2m and plant spacing of 45cm may be considered optimum for obtaining higher yield with average fruit weight.
