Abstract
Genotypic correlation coefficient and path-coefficient analyses were carried out in 55 varieties of mung bean (Phaseolus sureus Roxb.). Seed dield das found to be associated with days to flower, plant height, pods per plant and seeds per pod. 100-seed weight was negatively correlated with seed yield, days to flower and plant height but was positively associated with length of pod. Length of pod was strongly associated with 100-seed weight and seeds per pod. Path-coefficient analysis revealed that length of pod, days to flower and plant height, had high positive direct effect on seed yield. Plant height and days to flower had negative indirect effect through length of pod and 100-seed weight. The results indicated that maximum weightage should be given to length of pod, days to flower and plant height while formulating selection indices for seed yield in mung bean.
