Effect of different rootstock on tree vigour, yield and fruit quality of Campbell Valencia sweet orange

The experiment was conducted to find out the effect of Campbell Valencia sweet orange on four rootstock. Tree survival on Carrizo rootstock combination remained cent per cent and 75% on Troyer, while on Jatti Khatti only 25% of the plants survived after 31 years of age. Average fruit yield was maximum on Jatti Khatti and minimum on Kharna Khatta rootstock. Fruit weight was maximum on Troyer and minimum on Jatti Khatti rootstock. Maximum TSS was recorded in fruits on troyer and Carrizo and minimum on Kharna Khatta. The TSS: acid ratio was maximum in fruits sampled from Carrizo and Troyer rootstocks. On the basis of 20 seasons data in respect of tree survival, yield and fruit quality attributes, Citranges (Carrizo and Troyer) and Jatti Khatti are most suitable rootstocks for Campbell Valencia sweet orange.
