Abstract

There was sigificant increase in plant growth characters and seed yield of black gram in the treatment with VAM + neem cake @ 0.5 tlha and VAM alone. All the treatments significantly decreased root-knot index. and nematode population in soil. VAM + neem cake @ 0.5 tlha combination found to be best in increasing plant growth characters and yield of black gram, while chemical treatment (carbofuran @ 3 kg a.i./ha) along with VAM + carbofuran @ 1.5 kg a.i./ha were found to be effective in suppressing root-knot index and nematode population in soil.
