Abstract
Four sprays of 0.05 and 0.10 per cent phosalone were given on okra crop at an interval of fifteen days starting from 21 days after sowing. Residues were determined by GLC after subjecting the sample extract for clean-up by multiband plate. The half-lives of residues were only 1.20 to 1 34 days. More than 91 per cent dissipation was observed within first five days after last spray. The waiting periods worked out on the basis of 1 ppm tolerance limit were 4 and 6 days after sprayings the crop with 0.05 and 0.10 per cent phosalone respectively. The washing of fruits by water was found effective in reducing the level of residues by 11.78 to 73.68 per cent.
