The fused fluoride pellet fluorometric method of uranium determination used at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory for the measurement of uranium in environmental samples with concentrations as low as 0.1 ppb total U is described. These analytical techniques are routinely used in the analysis of thousands of samples of soils, natural waters, and various biological materials.
