Abstract

Effect of four dates of sowing viz. May 16, May 31, June 16 and June 30 on the incidence and disease index of soybean yellow mosaic was compared on two soybean varieties, namely Bragg and SL 295. Maximum disease incidence/index was observed in May 16 sown crop which decreased with subsequent sowing dates. Pod and seed weight per plant was highest in May 31 and June 16 sown crops. Effect of plant population level (0.30, 0.45 and 0.60 million plants/ha) on the incidence of yellow mosaic was studied on five soybean varieties. Per cent incidence and disease index was least where the plant population was highest i.e. 0.60 million per ha.
