Abstract

Tables summarize the estimates of recoverable fossil fuels and uranium reserves made by DOE, the US Geological Survey, the National Academy of Sciences, and private companies. They also show how those estimates have changed over a 10-year period. Other estimates project the potential for undiscovered oil and gas reserves and the 90 to 140-year life expectancy of fossil fuels based on a range of annual growth rates of one to four percent. The estimates of total remaing recoverable resources assume that recovery is economical with current technology. 6 tables.
