Abstract

Gamma conversions and KSo, $\Lambda$o and $\overline {\Lambda}$o decays have been analyzed in a 48, 000 frame exposure of the FERMILAB 30-in. hydrogen bubble chamber to 205 GeV/c negative pions. The experimental inclusive cross sections are: σ($\gamma$) = 170. 6 ± 15. 3 mb, σ(KSo) = 3.49 ± 0. 60 mb, σ($\Lambda$o) = 1. 65 ± 0. 33 mb, and σ($\overline {\Lambda}$) - 0. 57 ± 0. 22 mb. The average number of πo's produced per inelastic collision, πo>, rises linearly with nch' the number of charged particles produced, while < nKSo>, < nΛo>, and < n$\overline {\Lambda}$o > are approximately independent of nch˙ F1 (x) and F2 (pt2) distributions are presented for $\gamma$, KSo, $\Lambda$o and, $\overline {\Lambda}$ o production.
