Abstract

The State Electricity Commission of Victoria's Research and Development Department has existed as an organisational entity, under different names, for just over 20 years. During this period a well defined role for the Department has evolved. This role is outlined and, in particular, the means of selecting and ensuring efficient prosecution of the research projects and other tasks that form the work of the Department, are described.
