Refugee MD not wasting skills even though door to medical practice in Canada is closed

Dr. Lula Hussein, a Somali refugee with a medical degree from East Germany, is not licensed to practise in Canada, but she is making her mark in Ottawa's Somali community by counselling, advising and helping her fellow refugees. One of her particular interests is in ending the practice of female genital mutilation, which still finds favour among some of Canada's refugees and immigrants.
