Abstract
This paper describes the application of hydrocarbon refrigerants in car air conditioning system. The selected refrigerants are isobutane(R600a), propane(R290), CFC-12, HFC-134a, binary mixture of propane/isobutane, and OS-12a. A theoretical and experimental investigation has been performed for selected refrigerants. The test results of hydrocarbon refrigerants has been compared to the traditional refrigerant(CFC-12). The results show that hydrocarbon refrigerants(HC-Blend, OS-12a) are also very good alternatives in the refrigerant field.
