Abstract
Along with environment, Safety and comfort/convenience are so growing issues, all of which require more electric power in vehicle. To meet that demand as well as future one. The ATLAS BX Co. has initiatied development works on VLRA battery using AGM separator since 1996 and successfully developed a new advanced VRLA battery for automotive vehicles. The new VRLA battery was designed and prepared by introducing newly developed and optimized materials of external plastic and internal parts such as positive plate, negative plate, methods of SAE J240 75℃ and field test for 2years. The results of two cycle life tests show that the new VRLA battery has lasted much longer (150~ 170%) than a flooded battery
