Abstract
A federal agency is proposed which would assist private industry (waste generators and waste control service firms) in the transition from landfilling hazardous chemicals to regional networks of large-scale waste destruction and neutralization systems. Energy recovery from incineration of organic wastes could provide steam or electric power for adjacent industries. Fly ash and slag would be sold for use as an aggregate in road construction. (JMT)
