Abstract
Nutritive value of Thalapadma (Hibiscus mutabilis L) tree leaves was evaluated in 4 adult male Assam local goats (20-22m, 16.57 kg b. wt.)- Thalapadma leaves contained CP (17.5), EE (4.2), CF (16.53), NFE (53.01), Ash (8.76), Ca (3.25) and P (0.53) on % DM basis. The digestibility coefflcient values were DM (57.68), OM (58.65), CP (51.66) EE (63.78) CF (49.07) and NFE (56.34) per cent. The voluntary DM intake was 3.6 kg/100 kg body weight. Goats were in positive nitrogen, Ca and P balances. Nutritive value of Thalapadma leaves for goats were 9.14% DCP and 53.04% TDN.
