Abstract

This paper seeks to examine the background and underlying theory of waterjet propulsion which may help to explain the present resurgence of interest in this form of propulsion. A reviex of some leading waterjet propulsor manufacturer's products is presented, with examples of their application. In the course of the paper, many aspects of marine waterjet propulsion technology are touched upon.
