Abstract
The real uplink & downlink communication path between satellite and ground station consists of RF path, baseband path and processing software eventually. However to develop or test of uplink & downlink baseband HW and its processing software, the real RF path is not necessary. The PC-based communication link environment will be enough as following figure 1. The set-up components are 2 PCs which processes both ground station SW and satellite SW, 4 boards (2 are baseband HW at satellite PC and 2 are baseband HW at ground station PC) and RS-422 communication cables to connect between satellite PC & ground station PC. Figure 1. Up/Downlink Test Environment based on PC In this paper, the result of design and test of baseband HW and processing software implementation based on PC will be described. Using this PC-based uplink and downlink environment, the CCSDS (Consultative Committee for Space and Data Systems) standard link HW and the real flight software development will be easier and simpler.
