Abstract
Whole-body irradiation elicited an increase in14 C- AIB uptake by the rat liver with a concomitant decrease by kidney, muscle, spleen, and testes. Aminoethylisothiouronium (AET) and cysteamine (MEA) partially prevented these changes in the liver and kidney. The uptake of inulin and orotic acid by the liver was not affected by irradiation while that for32 P and algal hydrolysate was increased.
