Abstract
Application of aqueous sprays of 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T or NAA each at 5, 10 or 20 ppm or gibberellic acid at 10, 20 or 40 ppm to Pant Lemon-1 trees significantly increased the fruit set in the autumn flush. Maximum fruit set (73.6 per cent) was recorded after spraying with 10 ppm 2,4-D. The immature fruit drop was not appreciably affected by various treatments. All the growth regulators irrespective of their concentration significantly reduced the pre-harvest drop of fruits. Except for 20 ppm 2,4,5-T all the treatments decreased the total fruit drop effectively, 10 ppm NAA treatment being the most effective followed by 20 ppm GA.
