Abstract

The paper introduces a research agenda that would allow environmental equity aspects to be incorporated into the sustainable transport planning in a systematic and meaningful manner. The basic premise outlined is that environmental equity must be an integral part of the discourse of sustainable transport. The paper presents a challenge by identifying the need for a new research agenda, and if this challenge is addressed and eventually met, an important step toward incorporating the missing environmental equity trade-off in the sustainable transport discourse would be made.
