Abstract

Die-back of Capsicum caused by Colletotrich4um capsid is most serious and destructive disease and resulting serious economic losses in Maharashtra. Among the seven fungicides, benomyl (0.25%) was found most effective, which inhibited 90 percent growth of Colletotrichum capsid followed by diafolaton (0.25%), propiconazole (0.1%), hexaconazole (0.1%), mancozeb (0.2%), carbendazim (0.05%) and chlorothalonil (0.2%) with 86.66, 85.55, 84.44, 73.33, 68.88 and 65.55 percent growth inhibition over control respectively. Among the six bioagent tested, Trichodenna harzianum recorded highest growth inhibition (83.33%) of Colletotrichum capsid over control followed by T. Koningii, T. longiforum, Pseudomonas Jluorescens, T. viride and T. hamatum with 81.11, 76.66, 67.77, 56.66 and 53.33 percent growth inhibition over control respectively.
