Abstract
This paper presents general overviews of plant specific procedures used at operating nuclear power plants for the tracking of thermal transients. Outlines of analytical techniques incorporated in the design phase to evaluate reactor vessel components for thermal fatigue are discussed. Areas where conservatisms exist in the analysis and a presentation of procedures available for on-line monitoring of critical operational parameters which affect the design basis are addressed. 2 refs.
