Abstract
A codeine conjugate, isolated from the urine of dogs injected s. c. with 20 mg/ kg of N-C14H3-codeine, has been characterized as codeine-6-glucuronide dihydrate by ultraviolet, infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, codeine and glucuronic acid content determination, elemental analysis and enzymatic hydrolysis with β-glucuronidase.
