Abstract
The extent of genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance in respect of ten yield and yield contributing traits in nine genotypes of pea were studied. High phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation in pod yield/plant, plant height and number of primary branches/plant indicated the existence of variability based on these characters. High heritability and high genetic advance in pod yield/plant, plant height and number, primary branches/plant indicated that selection can be made for improvement. The pod yield which was highest in VL-3 ranged from 54.33 to 91.52 g/plant, exhibited 76.80 percent heritability and a fare amount of genetic advance as percent of mean.
