Strawberries rank high among small fruit crops of the state.Here production varies widely, from o ne to nine tons per acre, in part b ecau e the crop is grow n both with and without irrig ation.Althou g h three tons is a fa irl y safe estimate of what an average and well-1!lanag ed planting may be expected to produce, yields of six tons are fairly comm on .The acreage for the period 1934 to 1944, inclusive, fluctuat ed as follows:~
