Comparative Persistence Pattern of the Residues of Organophosphate and Synthetic Pyre thro id Insecticides in/on Ber Fruits.

Abstract

The persistence and dissipation of pesticide residues on ber fruits following foliar applications at fruiting stage of the crop was studied in respect of monocrotophos, phosphamidon, cypermethrin and fenvalerate treatments. The initial deposits were found to dissipate with the half life of 2.4 and 2.3 days for monocrotophos; 2.7 and 2.4 days for phosphamidon; 12.8 and 10.6 days for cypermethrin and 8.8 and 11.9 days for fevalerate from their effective application rates and a higher dose respectively. The persistence pattern of residues from the different treatments with respect to prescribed MRL suggest the waiting periods of 0.1 to 0.7 days for monocrotophos; 4.1 to 9.1 days for phosphamidon; 11.0 to 14.8 days for cypermethrin and 4.4 to 8.9 days for fenvalerate.
