Abstract

Field experiment was conducted under irrigated conditions at Bajaura (Kullu) during winter seasons of 1993–94 and 1994–95 for the control of complex weed flora in wheat. It was observed that 2, 4-D at 0.5 kg/ha failed to control Veronica persica and grassy weeds, whereas isoproturon was ineffective against Medicago denticulata, V. persica and Avena ludoviciana, Application of metsulfuron methyl was found very effective against all the broad leafweeds. The combination of metsulfuron methyl with isoproturon most effectively controlled all the weeds except A. ludoviciana and gave yield at par with isoproturon alone and in combimition with 2, 4-D application.
