Abstract
A study was Initiated during rabi 1991–92 and 1992–93 at the Agricultural Research Farm of Raja Balwant Singh College, Bichpuri, Agra to study the effect of weed management practices and phosphorus levels on weed infestation, nodulation and seed yield in chickpea+mustard intercropping. The results indicated that pre plant incorporation of f1uchloralin 1.5 kg/ha significantly reduced the density and biomass of weeds by 38.6 and 46.1% over unweeded check, respectively. Length of primary root, nodules/plant and dry weight of root were also enhanced significantly by fluchloralin application 1.5 kg/ha. Fluchloralin applied 1.5 kg/ha resulted in 58.2% higher chickpea equivalent yield than that of check. The response of phosphorus was observed upto 40 kg P2O5/ha only. Application of 40 kg P2O5/ha increased the chickpea equivalent yield by 31.5 per cent.
