Abstract

Evidence for the existence of microturbulence in main-sequence stars is reviewed. Alternative explanations for the curve-ofgrowth evidence are given and the expected behavior of absorption line profiles due to microturbulence is presented. Steps for detecting the microturbulence effects in profiles are outlined. (auth)
