Abstract

Status of aquacultureFisheries production mainly comes from marine fisheries (>75% of total) (Figure 1).However, the highest value comes from the culture of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) which is over 72% (260,200 tons) of coastal aquaculture production in 1995.Thailand's long coastline --2,600 km -means that there are many areas suitable for shrimp culture.
