Abstract
Two field trials conducted to evaluate the efficacy of emamectin, indicated that emamectin (5 SG) applied @ 10,8.75 g ai ha−1 were more effective against brinjal fruit borer as compared to the standard checks. Emamectin @ 7.5 g ai ha−1 was found to be on par with profenofos 50 EC (750 g ai ha−1) and γ-cyhalothrin 5 EC (30 g ai ha−1). But in terms of cumulative reduction in fruit damage, emamectin treatments were found to be superior to the standard checks. Emamectin @ 7.5 g ai ha−1 exhibited a maximum cost benefit ratio and can be recommended for borer management in brinjal.
