Abstract
The application of prefabrication system for high-rise building construction in Bangkok was studied. Advantages and disadvantages of using prefabrication for the construction were differentiated using the collected data performed by means of site visits and interviews offour construction projects in Bangkok. A comparison between prefabrication and cast-in-place system regarding construction cost and time was also accomplished. The parts of high-rise building which are appropriate to be prefabricated were recommended. Considering the advantages and disadvantages identified, the potential of ferrocement is explored. Current applications offerrocement in prefabricated systems are also presented.
