As this issue of the journal was going to press, much anticipated legislation making fundamental reforms to Australia's privacy law framework had been passed by the House of Representatives and was being considered by the Senate. The Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 (the Act), which seeks to amend the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act), will implement wholesale reforms to the Australian privacy protection framework.
